Peace Family,
I felt really inspired to come and share this song with you all today as I have been reading a lot across the blogosphere about skin bleaching in Jamaica. Before I go any further, I have to mention that skin bleaching is not just an issue for Jamaicans but African peoples across the diaspora. There are skin bleaching products readily available right here in the states and the supply would not be here if there was not a demand. Black people are not the only ethnic group suffering from trying to fit the images surrounding us in the news and media. Some Asians tape their eye lids and get surgery to give their eyes a crease. The problem is individuals feeling as if they are not good enough as is. I am here today to say YES YOU ARE! Whether you believe in a higher power or not, nature did not create anything out of sync. We are apart of something much greater than ourselves. Look at how the sun rises and sets everyday without reminder. All animals are apart of the food chain that keeps the earth moving humans included!! We all expire at some point no matter how we eat, exercise, or in some cases medicate.
SO, Let's focus on self acceptance in an effort to live truly happy and satisfying lives. Embrace what you have and accentuate the things you love about yourself. Life is to short to focus so heavily on our outward appearances. There are tsunamis and hurricanes taking place all over the world and issues that need our attention. Be of help to someone else. Who knows you may develop a better appreciation of yourself and cee your true worth:) Enjoy the song below and feel free to change the chorus to fit your own ethnicity. We should all be so proud because our cultural differences have enriched the world.

Book Review: Hair Story
Peace Family,
I hope this post finds you all well. I have been so busy with life and redecorating my new room that I have neglected to post here. My apologies. I recently decided to add a new facet to my you tube page simply entitled "Book Reviews." I read a lot and it is one of my extreme pleasures to share the knowledge and insight of these books with others. In an effort to keep it fun and light (as oppose to boring you to death lol) I have decided to share the videos here instead of writing out the review. Let me know what you think. The first video is a review of Hair Story by Lori Tharps and Ayana Byrd. It is essentially the history of African- American hair. It was a great read. Very informative and comical at moments. Currently, I am reading Hill Harper's The Conversation and I can not wait to share the details of this one with you!! If you have read either of these books, please feel free to share your thoughts below. Until next time, I wish you all peace and light.

Nails of the Week: Fuchsia
Peace Family,
This week I turned another minor mix up into something kinda cool. I was trying a technique that I often wore during my sophomore year of college, colored french tips. I did a pale pink base and a fuchsia color tip but my hand proved to be less steady than I needed it to be. To conceal the less than perfect tip, I drew a black line across the line of demarcation on each tip. I think it turned out pretty cute:) Let me know what ya think. Feel free to leave a comment or suggestion. I love hearing from you all. Have a peaceful and positive week.

Nails of the Week Time! :)
Peace Family,
It's nails of the week time! I used LA-Colors (which is the brand of pretty much all my nail colors) in this fun Tangerine with black and white design art and of course top coat. I was going for a tribal look but it came out looking a little lady bug-esq lol Nonetheless, I like it and I think next week I will try to expand on the lady bug theme:) Mistakes can be a source of inspiration. I hope you enjoy this post. If you have any tips and tricks on nail design let me know I love trying new things. Cee ya in the next post!
Peace and light,

Song of the Day: "Little Fly" Esperanza Spalding
Peace Family,
I hope this post reaches you all in good health and spirit. I feel especially good today and have the perfect song to reflect my mood. "Little Fly" by Esperanza Spalding (poem by William Blake) is the essence of happiness. A cool, breezy, relaxing, even sensual happiness. Every time I hear it I get chills its likes experiencing her "Adore" all over again smh Good music :) I invite you, if you have not already, to enjoy this song not just for the lovely tune but for the words that really depict how connected we are with nature. Who knew we could have so much in common with a little fly? lol Any who, I hope you all enjoy. I hope to get a few posts out this evening. The internet in my new place is not fully set up but I am just itching to get these posts out. Feel free to comment. I love hearing from you all and welcome to my new readers! Thanks for joining in and taking part in the HoneyCee blog family:) Until next time, I wish you all peace and light. Cee ya in the next post!
