I Live For Stuff Like This...

Hey Family,

I know I haven't posted in ages!! Truth be told, I just haven't had the time to. BUT, due to the fact that I am sick and not permitted to go to work, I have caught up on almost everything and started to indulge in my favorite past time which is YOU TUBE!!! So, I love stylelikeme. It's a channel on YouTube and I came across this video which is ugh!! no words. I just live for moments, videos, posts like this. Anything inspirational, motivational, or that just challenges conventions and encourages people to live a more authentic life is right up my ally. Please check out the video below and share with your friends, fam, whomever. Feel free to leave a comment. I'd love to read what you have to say. The semester is winding down both for the students I'm teaching and for myself so you will be getting more post from me. Promise :)

I believe in angels...

And I don't mean this in some mystical ghostly kind of way. I just believe that there are people out there who have opened themselves up to being used by God and when they do, whether they realize it or not, they have been someone else's angel. Put this way, we are all (or all have the potential to be) an angel. When we allow ourselves to be used by God, when we really open up to the idea of surrendering and allowing his will to be done in us and through us, we have the potential to help others. To be used. I want to be used.  I am not afraid of the idea of that because I do know that God would not put me or you in any situation that he cannot see us through. So, we can all walk boldly into any and all situations that present themselves to us knowing that we are the tools of a mighty and powerful God. Of whom shall we be afraid? No one. Nothing. We are all being and being surrounded by angels :)

Peace Family,

It has been a busy summer so far. I can't believe how fast we made it to July! Feel free to share and tell me what you have been up to so far this summer.

Is Your Life Lacking Orgasms?

Peace Family,

Don't be confused by the title. This post is about much more than sex. I am working on a short story and it got me to thinking about something else that I thought I would share with you all. The concept of an orgasm. Check out these definitions:

1. the physical and emotional sensation experienced at the peak of sexual excitation, usually resulting from stimulation of the sexual organ and usually accompanied in the male by ejaculation.

3. intense or unrestrained excitement.

4. an instance or occurrence of such excitement.

Given these definitions, and the fact that people use "orgasmic" to describe everything from a good meal to a good movie (myself included), I thought it was ok to use the word to talk about an experience that I think many of us are lacking today: fulfillment. I'm talking about  things that make us feel “orgasmic” other than sex. Let's just think about this for a minute. Hobbies. People don’t really have them any more. Generations past would find something they loved and enjoyed to wine down or free themselves from the realities of their day to day business. People would knit, play instruments, scrapbook, fix cars, sew, build airplanes etc…I guess my point here is that these were things that forced past generations to use their own creativity. These outlets provided them with something they could take pride in, hold dear, and establish a sense of self worth, and an overall feeling of fulfillment. Not to say that people do not still do these things, but majority of people today do not have "hobbies." We have fallen completely under the control of machines, video games, cell phone games, TV shows, movies, etc. Now of course there is nothing wrong with any of these things. After, all somebody created all of them. And, I'm not saying that we should take up the hobbies of the past. There are so many creative ways to use the technology available today. However, there is something special about taking the time to establish your own gifts and talents. The bible says God gave us ALL gifts. My hope is that we don’t go our entire lives without discovering them. Well, I guess that’s all. I hope that I do not offend anyone. My wish for everyone that reads this post is that you will find that thing, other than sex, that makes your hairs raise, forces your blood  to rush, and toes to curl, at the mere thought of it. May you have the most perfect release :) After all isn't that what an orgasm is anyway?

Peace and Light,

Starting the Weekend Off Right!

Peace Family,

Started my weekend off with a work out. One of the things I always try to do is get in more cardio during my breaks from school. I do a pretty good job of maintaining my little 30 minute at home work outs during the year like yoga and Pilate's. But, the thing that really gets me where I like to be is cardio. Check out some of the work outs I do throughout the school year at the links below and my interview of Nekita Shelton who lost an amazing 150 pounds! The girl is so inspiring. Talk to you in the next post :)

Daily Inspiration: Maya Angelou on OWN

Peace Family,

Just in case you didn't catch it and, if you did, here is a repeat of Oprah's interview with Maya Angelou. Here is my fave quote from the video:

"Don't you know I'm a child of God?!" Maya Angelou

Simple right? I don't know about you, but sometimes I have to remember that when faced with people's unfair treatment of me and even my unfair treatment of other people. We are all God's children.

Daily Inspiration: Quote

Peace Family,

I want to preface this by saying that I do these posts as much for me as I do for you all to read. These are words that inspire and motivate me as well. I hope they are a blessing to you. If you have been reading for a while, you know that these posts range from music to fitness but it is all meant to uplift the human spirit.

"Prayer will make the hard bits of your life easier, and more fruitful. Consistent prayer lifts you to a higher, positive place where you learn how to accomplish more while experiencing a deep peace of heart and soul. "

Schools Out! For Summer!!

Peace Family,

I write to you in the best of moods because school is out!! Yea, Hooray! Well, I still have one class left but hey I'm celebrating early lol. I have so many things I want to do this summer, books I want to read, restaurants I want to visit, exercises I want to do, and the list goes on and on. But mostly I am looking forward to not having to live life so fast paced. I've been running around like a chicken with it's head cut off for the last year and I'm tired. I just want to do some things that I enjoy and that make me feel alive. Don't get me wrong I looove school and I'm totally in love with the work I've been doing but the schedules and due dates have gotten the best of me and I feel I need a rest. So, I've planned to thoroughly enjoy this summer and make it really productive before I begin my last year of my masters degree this September. Woo! time flies :) What are your plans for the summer? Feel free to leave them below. I'll talk to you all in the next post and trust me it will be very soon :)

Blessings,

Flavored Water

Peace Family,

I wanted to share this quick and easy alternative to drinking plain water. I understand that beginning to drink water can be a struggle for some and for those who drink water regularly, it can get a little boring and tasteless. I find the easiest way to keep it spicy and add a little flavor to my water is to add fruit. I keep frozen fruit in my fridge for smoothies and added a few orange slices left over from a snack. Add it all together and you have a very refreshing drink. Oranges have high levels of Vitamin C are really good this time of year when cold and flu germs are all over the place and strawberries are full of antioxidants. Try it and let me know what you think in the comments below. What kind of fruit do you like in your water?

Until next time,

Cee<3

Below is pic to prove it! lol You can look forward to many more posts from me. Hopefully you won't get sick of me:)
